ETHEARNAL - I peer-to-peer (P2P) freelance system
Sometime
ago, I offered my service on bitcointalk.org as a full-stack web
developer and a client reached out to me to design a betting site. While
trying to conclude the deal, I had a pinch to research my client; lo
and behold, he had several copies of dummy sites up and running. And all
I could think of was, 'why waste my time'. The websites that were
designed for him were not that bad... but I could tell he was choosy and
for the amount he was willing to pay, it won't be worth the hustle.
Everyone is born Independent, but some choose to work for themselves. Is
it a mere theory that people have more of a follower's mentality than a
leader's? I wonder what they teach in leadership classes. Also, I have
never heard of follower's classes. Is It because there is no need to
since we are always told what to do rather than being left to do what we
think to be true. The leadership qualities in the people are always
present and it's just that they do not choose to see and work on it.
Some work their way upwards to fight and win the battle. Although the
battle is lonely, the rewards are pretty high which seem to compensate
for the battles fought. Freelancers have found the amazing world of
internet as their ultimate saviour but managing clients and working
continuously do take effort and time.
Today, freelancers are stuck on the different websites under the realm
of nasty clients' review who wants quality work for zero payment. And,
add to that, the intermediaries are earning millions of revenue from the
commissions. They have become the master in the freelancer world. Funds
are not immediately released to the freelancers and limited channels
are available for payment creates the roadblock in the freelancing
business.
The biggest roadblock faced by the freelancers on these websites is of
unfair dispute resolution. There is no any objectivity left if you do
not know what went into the decision making progress and who is the
authority. There is an urgent need for a revamped system which should
make things easier for the freelancing community as well as the clients
and businesses.
Problems with Freelancing
As good and jolly-spirited a person new to this economy may feel, it’s
not all peaches and cream. This industry also faces its own challenges
that in many cases have either deterred many individuals or caused the
interference of arbitration. And we all know that this system – the
arbitrary system isn’t flawless, as human factors and conditions make it
difficult to really benefit from a fair trial.
More so, the system of middlemanism has really brought about a distinct
problem with this industry as people on either side of the gig
negotiating table, have little to no idea on what’s going on on the
other side.
It’s not that the centralized systems are that good, it’s just that, the
current dispensation of technology – the era of the decentralized
internet is way better and makes it even more autonomous, and reliable.
Other interesting challenges that are common to this sphere include
changes that come up without compensation, on either side, such as
changes in deadline date, modification of expected results contrary to
original agreements, dissatisfaction with completed jobs which could
lead to several revisions – unpaid and prolonged, payment options
channels, payment fees and terms and many more major and minor problems
that impede on the success of smooth internet business with regards to
the gigs.
Solutions Offered
ETHEARNAL is offering a decentralised Peer to Peer freelancer platform
for the business and freelancers across the world. The freelancer can
choose to directly engage with the client without any intermediary.
Freelancers and Clients enter into the Smart contract based deal where
the pre-agreed amount is deposited in the Escrow. Clients can find their
suitable freelancers using the listings which are released by the
freelancers.
ETHEARNAL Reputation Token can be earned by buying it in the market or
completing the job on the platform. The concept of a moderator is
introduced by the Platform for dispute resolution between the clients
and freelancers. Anyone can be the moderator with the required amount of
ERT Tokens but everyone carries an equal voting strength of one in the
system. Overall, they have presented a sustainable P2P based freelancing
model which can hugely reduce the current weaknesses of the market.
How the platform works
The platform serves as a meeting point
for both freelancers and employers. Employers list their job offers on
the platform and decide whether or not reputation stakes should be
involved and the amount. The freelancer browses through the lists of
available offers and based on his skill and expertise selects any of the
jobs offered which he can handle once he evaluates the terms of the
agreement.
ERT stands for Ethearnal Reputation Token. Reputation stakes are in form
of ERT tokens that ensure that both parties will adhere to the contract
terms set by the employer.
Yes, ERT makes it happen; as it acts as a double-edged sword in that,
the more tokens you stake you try not to lose it, and prompts you to
deliver on the terms promptly. However, if both parties decide to annul
the agreement, they both can come to a consensus and the contract is
terminated with nothing lost from the deal – both reputations staked and
gig rewards are returned to the respective owners.
If all goes well between the employer and the freelancer, a 1%
deductible value of Eth or price value of the contract is used by the
platform to purchase ERT on the open market, thereby creating a cyclic
pool, whereby the system sustains itself and increases its own worth on
the open market.
In case of dispute, the moderators can step in and can earn from the
output of the resolution, this way they earn tokens too. Another
important feature of this platform is the way the ICO 2.0 operates.
Token holders control how the team spends their funds in the development
of their project. In other words, team members will not relax despite
successful crowdfunding. They will have to be on their toes to ensure
they deliver on the terms of the agreement, and should they default, a
single token holder can initiate a refund process. Awesome!
Who will buy the token ?
- Freelancers
- Employers
- People who want to make extra income via moderating
- People who believe in our solution and believe the token will appreciate due to its real utility
- People who would like to get a percentage of the prots of this project that has the potential to disrupt a $1T+ industry
- Pure speculators looking to make a quick ip. That is unavoidable.
What are the taxes for buying/selling ERT token ?
- Upon successful completion of a job (no arbitrage needed) 1% is deducted from the value of the contract. However, this is used to buy ERT tokens on the free market, which are then split between both parties. So, freelancers and employers get back 0.5% in ERT tokens. This means that the effective fee for the freelancer is 0.5%, and the employer gets 0.5% back in tokens, which is a slight initiative for them to use this system over others. This may or may not bring more work for the freelancer, and thus offset the already small fee.
- When arbitrage is needed, 1% is deducted before releasing the money to the winning side. This is shared between token holders in ether directly. However, the winner of the dispute gets the rep tokens of the minority mods that voted against him. This might or might not offset the 1% fee.
ICO Information & Team
They have asked people to support them in their endeavour to bring
change in the market. The ERT Tokens will be sold in the presale and
ICO. Their total ERT Token supply depends on the funds invested by the
people in the Presale and Main ICO. One ETH is equal to 1000 ERT. 75 %
of total coins will be sold in the presale and ICO.
The funds will be invested in the platform development and marketing.
People working in the project are experienced in the fields of
Blockchain technology and Freelancing. They are freelancers who have
been through it and are now ready to bring change.
